Lush: Fresh Handmade Skincare

5.12.2009

This morning I woke up to soft, glowing skin after my first night of using Lush skincare!

After seeing a little ad for the cosmetic company: Lush, in a magazine distributed along the streets of Waikiki and hearing the buzz about their products from friends, I had my little radar up. Then when I learned that Lush actually had a location close to my work, my radar went beeping...he he. I went walking past their store last night just to inform myself of their exact location in the Royal Hawaiian Center. Yeah, I ended up getting vaccumed in by their gorgeous visual displays.

Lush's products and how they creatively display them made me feel like I was in a gourmet grocery store and bakery with tons of colorful, great smelling goodness!

I learned that:

  • Lush uses fresh and organic fruits and vegetables in their products. 100% VEGETARIAN and over 70% VEGAN within their range of skincare and cosmetics.

  • Products are handmade!

  • No animal testing!

  • Lush is earth friendly. They've designed their packaging from post-consumer recycled, recyclable, and biodegradable materials.

  • They're about community. Lush gets their natural ingredients ethically sourced from small producers around the globe.

  • And they're charitable. Their exclusive line called: Charity Pot, contributes towards charitable organizations supporting animal rights, environmental protection, and humanitarian support!

Here's what I left with from Lush. My new line up of products catering to my specific skintype.

My line up included: Tea Tree Water Toner: a cooling and cleansing spritz toner, which has tea tree and grapefruit water. Enzymion: a light moisturizer which my skin drank right up, has fresh papaya and lemon! Cosmetic Warrior: a fresh mask that's kept refrigerated, has grapes, honey, garlic, and tea tree oil, works as an anti-bacterial that combats oil and spots. And Angels on Bare Skin: an exfoliator with precious essential oils that soothe, balance, soften, and calm your skin.

And look at this simple yet fun way they packaged their Angels on Bare Skin cleanser. Looks like food packaging. So cool:

Lush has stores across the globe and their products are available to purchase online. They have a whole line of products that are for both women and men! I'm thrilled about their products and I'm impressed with their initiatives! Go Lush!

Hi there! Photography and art featured on this blog, unless where noted, came from my camera and were made or styled by my hands. You may not use my photos for profit or on commercial websites, but we might be able to work something out with a dozen chocolate macarons, and a juicy deal. Do not remove my watermarks or copyright markings from my photos (please see previous sentence). I won't bite, well unless you infringe on my copyright. But really, send me an email, I'm pretty nice. The snail mail on my blog includes my mail or the work from other artists and pen friends. I do my best to give everyone credit. But, in the case where I have missed the proper credit please contact me to address it. If you would like to re-blog or pin any of my original works please be the awesome person that you are and give me a shout out a.k.a. proper credit, and link it back here. Speaking of links, I do on occasion link out to other sites, however I am not responsible for the content you find on those sites. Sometimes clicking on a link I’ve provided may be a link to a site that will give me a small commission if you buy something from them. Which means that I might get paid (hopefully not in gum) if you click on that link, whoo-hoo. Reason why I’m telling you is because I want to be honest with you and frankly, because it’s illegal not to. That said, I promise to use any affiliate commissions earned for good cause: like stationery hauls and lattes. Thank you kindly, Merissa
