Magazine Junkie Me

Most people in my family know that I have a serious addiction to magazines. Aside from coffee and espresso, yes, I have another the "glossy mag"...oh yes. It started when my Grandma Tsuruko (Jan, her English name) started giving me her Vogues and Harper's Bazaar when I was a younger me. In fact, if Keith didn't throw any of them away when he went on his undercover magazine thrashing operative while I was at work (he confessed a year later...hahaha), I think I might still have some of her issues with the address label in her name on it. =) And then there's mom and Aunty Pennie with their interior decorating magazines...they all contributed to my! So yes, I'm a sucker for fashion, architectual, and interior design magazines. Magazines can have such awesome visuals, capturing in some cases breakthrough images in the world of photography and graphic design...but those are just my thoughts...I'm an addict, and I get my fix by turning pages of a fresh glossy mag...haha!

So to get back to what I was actually going to blog about...i-D Magazine from the UK! So, artist KAWS did a collaboration with the magazine for their July 2008 issue and he first dropped the mention on his site back in June. Ever since then I've been keeping my eye out for it, eagerly awaiting it's arrival in Hawaii. And then on this faithful night...and July is almost over...I found the July 2008 issue of i-D Magazine! Whoohoo! Here are some of the cr-az-y images inside.

Looking through the magazine you'll find his art popping up in the coolest places!

If you're a KAWS fan or would like to see his art in this month's issue of i-D, you better head to the bookstore or magazine stands before they're sold out.....or before I buy them all...hehe.

Hi there! Photography and art featured on this blog, unless where noted, came from my camera and were made or styled by my hands. You may not use my photos for profit or on commercial websites, but we might be able to work something out with a dozen chocolate macarons, and a juicy deal. Do not remove my watermarks or copyright markings from my photos (please see previous sentence). I won't bite, well unless you infringe on my copyright. But really, send me an email, I'm pretty nice. The snail mail on my blog includes my mail or the work from other artists and pen friends. I do my best to give everyone credit. But, in the case where I have missed the proper credit please contact me to address it. If you would like to re-blog or pin any of my original works please be the awesome person that you are and give me a shout out a.k.a. proper credit, and link it back here. Speaking of links, I do on occasion link out to other sites, however I am not responsible for the content you find on those sites. Sometimes clicking on a link I’ve provided may be a link to a site that will give me a small commission if you buy something from them. Which means that I might get paid (hopefully not in gum) if you click on that link, whoo-hoo. Reason why I’m telling you is because I want to be honest with you and frankly, because it’s illegal not to. That said, I promise to use any affiliate commissions earned for good cause: like stationery hauls and lattes. Thank you kindly, Merissa
