Wish I Were There {Postcards of Kauai}

I love shopping for postcards when I'm at home on Kauai. These are a few I picked up of my island home. This is the last lookout atop Koke'e overlooking the Kalalau Valley.
This one is of the Fern Grotto. You get to the grotto by boat. Most visitors pay a boat tour to take them there. We're lucky that my dad has a ski boat and all while growing up on Kauai we would take trips up river to visit the grotto. It's so secluded and relaxing there. The air is fresh and cool. You hear birds and even wild chickens...if you've been to Kauai you know what I'm talking about, wild Kauai chickens, they're everywhere. And sometimes you might see a kitty cat. I really don't know how cats get there but even they go to see the grotto :) At the dock I remember the sound of water gently lapping the boat, the wind rustling the leaves in the trees around us...I feel like I'm right there this moment. Most of the time when we get there, there are no tour groups, we have the grotto all to ourselves to take in the sight of it all, so beautiful, so amazing. The fern grotto is one of the great places I've enjoyed while growing up on the island. I'll never forget it. I had an awesome childhood living on Kauai. (^•^)

By the way, have you been bit by the crackle/shatter polish bug? I know I have...

  1. it sounds like heaven! <3

  2. Aloha Alicia,
    A slice of heaven (^•^) it sure is.

  3. Pretty postcards... and nails!

  4. Thanks Julie ;) too many polishes, not enough time. It would be great to have a new nail color every week (^•^)

So happy you paid me a visit. Mahalo!

Hi there! Photography and art featured on this blog, unless where noted, came from my camera and were made or styled by my hands. You may not use my photos for profit or on commercial websites, but we might be able to work something out with a dozen chocolate macarons, and a juicy deal. Do not remove my watermarks or copyright markings from my photos (please see previous sentence). I won't bite, well unless you infringe on my copyright. But really, send me an email, I'm pretty nice. The snail mail on my blog includes my mail or the work from other artists and pen friends. I do my best to give everyone credit. But, in the case where I have missed the proper credit please contact me to address it. If you would like to re-blog or pin any of my original works please be the awesome person that you are and give me a shout out a.k.a. proper credit, and link it back here. Speaking of links, I do on occasion link out to other sites, however I am not responsible for the content you find on those sites. Sometimes clicking on a link I’ve provided may be a link to a site that will give me a small commission if you buy something from them. Which means that I might get paid (hopefully not in gum) if you click on that link, whoo-hoo. Reason why I’m telling you is because I want to be honest with you and frankly, because it’s illegal not to. That said, I promise to use any affiliate commissions earned for good cause: like stationery hauls and lattes. Thank you kindly, Merissa
